What does Matheo have up his sleeve for the fall dinner menu?

Matheo has been hard at work planning the new fall menu and will soon unveil all the surprises he has in store. When asked about some of the new fall menu items Matheo was tight lipped but he promised the new fall menu would really shake things up.

Rumors has it that the Fall Menu, which kicks off October, will feature classics like Biscuits and Gravy and Butterscotch Pudding; fresh veggies and meats from local producers and the Slope Market; and some soon to be classics like Dizzy’s signature “Naughty Sauce” . . . HUH! . . . or this is just a sneaky SEO trick to get lots of Google hits?!

But don’t wait till fall. Dizzy’s has been cooking up tasty treats all summer long with all the old favorites, Dad’s Favorite Meatloaf, Tuna Mac, and of course great burgers too! If you visit Dizzy’s Flickr album you can take a peak of some of the great things Matheo has been cooking up for Dinner all summer long.

Dizzy’s latest show features work by artist, illustrator John Tebeau. Tebeau’s liberally borrows from pop culture from the Talking Heads to Bugs Bunny. Tebeau says about his “Portrait of David Byrne”:

“I’ve tried to capture elements of all this in this portrait. The stately presentation implies his seriousness of purpose and dignity. The letters and dancers behind him are a nod to his on-stage showmanship and visual presentation. I’ve included the lamp from “Stop Making Sense” and a “tiger walking behind him” from his latest album, as well as Bugs Bunny and Pan, two of the great Trickster icons. The sun, moon, trees and flowers lend a cosmic air to the picture. And the angelic cherry on top of his whipped cream hair is an absurdist, but meaningfully playful touch. The spacey glyphs to the right are best viewed by tilting your head 90 degrees to your left.”

It s a place where everyone knows your name and one that truly serves the community of Park Slope.

When Ben and Matheo opened it in April 1998, they wanted to create “a finer diner” that would feel like home. The food is certainly finer
than most diners. Incredible breakfasts served all day long, homemade mac-n-cheese topped with Rice Krispies, wonderful salads and sandwiches, and delicious dinner entrees. In fact, on most weekends, there’s a wait to get in for brunch. Many in the neighborhood claim their coffee is the best around. Ditto that for their Brooklyn Egg Creams.”
